How we play beer pong at House Ramrod.

beerpong.jpg

Beginning the Game

  1. 14 cups (including 2 water cups) and 2 balls
  2. Usually played on an 8' long table.  You can stand up to the edge of the table, unless the table is shorter than 8' long.  Then a mark must be made of where you shoot from.
  3. Leaning your arm over the table is allowed.  You must have both feet on the ground when you shoot if you are leaning over the table, and your hands cannot be touching the table when you are shooting to keep your balance.  A loss of a turn will take place if this happens.
  4. Classic triangle 3,2,1 set-up
  5. Re-rack (consolidate) cups at 4 (diamond), 3 (triangle), 2 (strait line), and 1.  (Note:  Only fix at the end of turns or after a bring-back situation.)
  6. Shoot Eye-to-Eye for first shot.  If both throwers make the shot then the ball closest to the top of the triangle is the winner.  If neither shooter hits a cup, or the same cup is hit, then just keep on shooting until one team wins first shot.

Game Play

  1. If shooting team makes both shots they "bring it back".  Cups can be fixed after a bring back before the team shoots again, if shooting team asks for it.
  2. Cups knocked off table are gone, unless it is final cup.  (Note:  You cannot have a bring back if one of the hits is a cup knocked off the table.)
  3. Distractions are allowed, and encouraged, but you cannot physically interfere with any shot.  If a ball or cup is interfered with in the middle of a shot that had a legitimate chance of going in, a cup is taken away.
  4. Bounce shots are allowed, and if they go in 2 cups are removed.
  5. Bounce shots can be defended by opposing team once the ball hits the table.
  6. A bounce shot made and a regular shot made by a team in one turn is a bring-back situation as well. (So are two bounces in the same turn if that were to ever happen.)
  7. Girls can blow the ball out of the cup if it is spinning in the cup, or before it touches the beer.
  8. Teams are supposed to drink their beer before they shoot.  If a player or team does not finish their beer before they shoot the opposing team can shoot at their drinking cup.  If they hit it they win the game.  This is also known as a satellite cup.
  9. If a team is slow to remove their cups once they are hit and the shooting team makes the same cup twice they win the game.
  10. If one team hits the final 2 cups in a row during one turn then they win the game with no redemption shots.

One Cup Left

  1. If there is only one cup left and the shooting team both hit it in a row the game is over and they are the winner.  There are NO redemption shots.
  2. If there is one cup and only one player hits it, then the other team gets a chance at redemption to bring it to overtime.  Even if the opposing team has more than one cup left they get to each shoot until they miss a shot.  (Note: At this point the opposing team cannot win the game, they can just send it to overtime no matter if one or both players hit the final cup.)
  3. During a redemtion shot to try and bring the game to overtime, if a player hits the final shot first, a second shot will be given to see who will get first shot in overtime.  If the player hits his second shot, or his partner makes his redemption shot, then they get first shot in overtime.  If they only make the last cup once, the other team shoots first in overtime.

Overtime

  1. In overtime there is only a 3 cup set-up in the triangle format.
  2. There are no re-racks in any overtime round.
  3. The rest of the same rules apply as regulation.
  4. A second overtime would also be settled in this fashion.
  5. A third overtime will result in a one cup shoot-out!
  6. In the shoot-out each team gets 5 shots at one cup. (One player can shoot all 5 or the teams can divide it any way they want.)
  7. Which ever team makes the most out of 5 wins. (Any ties will result in another 5 shots until a winner is determined)
  8. Winners stay on the table until they are defeated.
